Arts and Recreation

The Santa Fe Opera has grown into one of the finest cultural festivals in the world. The world-renowned venue is an amphitheater in the rolling hills just outside of Santa Fe and a few short miles away from Tesuque Village. Views of the Sangre de Cristo and the Jemez Mountains surround the amphitheater and accentuate the quality of the productions. Santa Fe Opera season runs from late June to the end of August each year.

Santa Fe’s rich and unique art history is exemplified in the Village of Tesuque. The most breathtaking example of Tesuque’s art tradition is the beautiful Shidoni Foundry and Gallery. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the indoor art galleries, which represent more than 150 artists from all over the country. The outdoor gallery features over eight acres of sculpture gardens and bronze art. Shidoni is nestled along the Rio Tesuque on a former apple orchard and provides one of the most exciting art experiences the Southwest has to offer.
